Pre-departure countdown - 9 day: Lucky Day
Today got to be my lucky day, guess what? I found ticket from Auckland to Christchurch on 25/3 (our arrival day), at NZ$99 !!! Hoo Hoo..that must be the lowest possible fare! Finally, after the past few non-productive and depressing days!

So another big step! *clap clap clap* Set it is, that we'll arrive in Auckland on 25/3, 4am. Then we'll take the airbus to Auckland city for a half-day excursion on our own. I have also found the special deal on the airbus website where I can print out the discount coupon and get NZ$1 off the ride. I know NZ$1 is not much, but two of us will save NZ$2, *mimicking russel peter: you save one dollar here, and you save one dollar there, you have two dollar..* By the way a return airbus ride from Airport to Auckland city is NZ$22 per person. So with the coupon, we will save NZ$4 in total.
So below is a quick list of the significant costs I've figured that we have or will covered for 2 persons:
1. Air fare for return flight from Singapore to Auckland: S$1648
2. Travel Insurance: S$95
3. Air fare from Auckland to Christchurch: NZ$198
4. 2 return airbus ride from Auckland Airport to City and vice versa upon leaving NZ: NZ$84
5. Picton to Wellington via Soundsair: NZ$118 (provided we get the early bird price, NZ$59, else normal price would be NZ$79 per person)
6. International Departure Tax: NZ$50 (all visitors leaving NZ will need to pay the NZ$25 departure tax, so don't spend down to the last cent before you leave the country!)
The total work out to be around S$2,170, and our budget is S$5,000 for both of us. It worked out to be NZ$2700 left for other expenses, and that's around NZ$90 a day for two of us. Emm.... consider most of our accommodation will be covered in the WWOOFing (and partial meals too), and by Koo in Christchurch (thanks, Koo, muak muack muack!!), I think we should be able to stay within budget.
